A reminder that residents and businesses across Essex have until Monday 9th December to voice their priorities for public spending in the next financial year.
Insights gained from the online survey will help Essex County Council develop its spending plans for 2025/26.
The council spends around £2 billion every year on essential services for the people of Essex. This includes social care, highways and education.
As the population of the county grows, and the cost of living rises, the council wants to be honest and open about how money is spent and what can be achieved with its resources.
Part of this process is hearing and considering the views of the people and businesses which make up the county.
Councillor Chris Whitbread, the Chancellor of Essex, said: “The council has a strong track record of financial management, having saved £1 billion since 2008.
“However, we must look to do things differently in this economic environment. Innovation, honesty and collaboration will be key moving forward as the council looks to do more with less.
“You can help shape how we respond to the current uncertainty and pressures we face. We are very keen to hear from you.”
Residents can complete the online survey by Monday 9 December 2024.
